PDA Pathological Demand Avoidance 23.10.19

This course will outline the distinctive characteristics of Pathological Demand Avoidance which is best understood as one of the autism spectrum profiles.

It will cover issues for educational settings and promote partnership working. It will introduce Collaborative Approaches to
Learning, a flexible strategy to increase engagement with learning and improve emotional wellbeing.

Developing social and friendship skills in pupils with autism 18.11.19

Pupils on the autism spectrum often find the social aspect of the school day quite challenging.

This includes what to do at unstructured times as well as coping with general social interactions during the day.

This course will cover :

· How to develop friendship skills

· How to develop social understanding

With a focus on strategies and resources to support pupils aged eight to 16.
