This four session network provides an opportunity for primary and special school office leads (or office staff with significant responsibility) to share good practice and discuss issues that arise and how to overcome them.

Aspiring deputy heads programme

This cross-phase programme is aimed at current assistant headteachers or middle leaders with significant responsibility who are considering making the step up to deputy headship.

The programme includes topics such as:

- Getting ready for deputy headship, developing resilience and finding the right job for me.

- Curriculum intent, implementation and impact - what’s the role of a deputy?

- Ofsted as a deputy and working beyond the school gates.

- Challenging conversations, capability and bringing out the best in staff.

Aspiring middle leaders programme

 

This cross-phase programme is aimed at teachers who are considering making the step up to middle leadership.

 

The programme is made up of four sessions including the following cross-phase topics:

 

- What do middle leaders do? Choosing the right role and preparing applications.

 

- Planning for impact and getting people on board.

 

You will also be split into themed groups ((primary, departmental or pastoral leadership) for two sessions to explore:

 

- What are the nuts and bolts of middle leadership in your focus area?

 

- Curriculum intent in your focus area and how do you join the dots?
